PURE GYOKURO

Nº4 Shizetsu | Gyokuro

¥4,000

Cultivated in the rich soil of Mt Fuji, nourished by its volcanic nutrients. Shizetsu (Four Flavors) has a sweet and umami taste with an aroma close to Matcha. This refined, aged Gyokuro will sharpen your mind and help you concentrate while warming your body. Avoid at night, as it is high in caffeine.

Details & Attributes

It has a rich umami taste with hints of seaweed, seashore, and soup stock, and a sweet taste that does not linger, but the astringent taste slips away.
While the richness and body are definitely solid, they do not linger forever and disappear easily. As the brewing is repeated, there is a sweetness derived from the aging process in the greenness, and an acidity that lightly presses down on the tongue. Finally, the greenness is felt. There is no bitterness.

Tea Pairing

Best moment of the day: Breakfast - Lunch - Breaks

Japanese tea is traditionally offered with Japanese sweets. They also pair very well with all sorts of meals, either for breakfast, lunch, breaks, or even dinner (for the lower-caffeine tea).

During his years of serving tea to his dear customers, Mohei's knowledge of the flavors and characteristics of his teas allows him to share the wonders of an exceptional green tea served with the right food. When paired well, Japanese tea can unlock further benefits such as better digestion, better diet, or enhanced sensation of satiety.

Like bread and butter

Perfect for afternoon gathering cocktails and celebration lunches, Shizetsu will give you the finest experience once paired with cheese
