PURE KABUSECHA

Nº5 Hoshitsukiyo | Kabusecha

¥3,800

Directly produced at the foot of Mt Fuji, cultivated in its rich soil and nourished by its volcanic nutrients. Hoshitsukiyo (Starry Night) has a sweet taste, umami, and astringency with a slight milky aroma. It leaves a pleasant but strong aftertaste that persists in the palate. It will reset your mind and help you focus afterward.

Tea Pairing

Best moment of the day: For Breaks

Japanese tea is traditionally offered with Japanese sweets. They also pair very well with all sorts of meals, either for breakfast, lunch, breaks, or even dinner (for the lower-caffeine tea).

During his years of serving tea to his dear customers, Mohei's knowledge of the flavors and characteristics of his teas allows him to share the wonders of an exceptional green tea served with the right food. When paired well, Japanese tea can unlock further benefits such as better digestion, better diet, or enhanced sensation of satiety.

Dry Fruits

Hoshitsukiyo is best appreciated with light and fruity snacks

A new experience!

The taste of this tea is not like anything I've tried before and I absolutely love it! I imagine it is due to it's production process, as it says on the website: partly in the shade. Also, as a European I am (was) more used to your run of the mill tea.. but this tea tastes great and the detailed brewing instructions on the website are very helpful! I am going to look for umami taste in other food too now :)

Extraordinary! It takes a while to get to know the tea; the longer you drink it, the more you come to love its subtle flavor notes.

After three infusions, I use the leaves for another Mizudashi infusion to obtain a refreshing tea with floral notes.

Dear Jeff,

Thank you for you kind review. We are delighted to see that our Kabusecha has satisfied your taste! As you rightfully mentioned, Hoshitsukiyo has a bit of mystery surrounding its taste. Following up with an additional Mizudashi infusion is an excellent way to fully appreciate this Kabusecha until the last drop We hope it will bring you more memorable tea times.
